Position Requirements
The Ogallala Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.
Requirements are:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- At least 21 years of age
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license
- Be of good character
- Have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
- If applicable, received an honorable separation from military service
Certified Officer Opportunities
Applicants with a valid Nebraska Law Enforcement Certification, or certification in another state that meets the reciprocity requirements of the NLETC, will be eligible for lateral entry and eligible for an Education/Training/Experience Bonus of $3,000.
- $1,500 paid upon completion of the Field Training Program
- $1,500 paid after completion of 1 year
Starting pay:
- Certified officers: $25.34/hr.
- Non-certified officers: $23.46/hr.
A complete background check will be made.
Valid certification needs to be presented with the application.
